Liven up your wedding reception with chair covers and tabletops
 |
Wedding themes have evolved significantly over the years. What was once a simple matter of color scheme and comfort now has more to do with illustrating a couple’s personality throughout the day. Because this trend has become almost standard, it has evolved within itself. Tables and chairs are being used as a continuation of the theme and as a way to further display the newlyweds’ personality.
There are many different options for decorating your tables and chairs. Whether your color scheme is primary or pastel, varied or focused, there are now new ways to decorate both in a way that reflects a couple’s personality. Gifts for the guests that follow the color scheme or theme are often left on the table at each person’s place. Even the place cards are sometimes decorated in such a way that reflects the theme. Many people get chair covers that completely cover the chair and make it more dressed up. Sometimes there is a bow tied around the back or a pattern on the cover that goes along with the theme.
Here are some examples of fun wedding themes that would work well with chair covers and tabletops:
• Gardening theme: Use brightly colored dishes and fun trinkets, such as miniature rakes and watering cans. Chair covers should be in spring colors — pinks, greens and yellows. A small potted plant makes a great party favor, and coming up with an appropriate centerpiece will be a snap • Polka-dot theme: Use polka-dotted sashes across the chairs, polka-dotted plates and polka-dotted tablecloth, but make sure there’s enough solid colors so your guests don’t become dizzy. Popular color pairings are black and white polka dots with hot pink napkins, plates and flowers. Green and orange also work well for summer and fall weddings, while classic red, black and white are great year-round • Japanese theme: Alternate bold primary colors on the chair covers or on sashes across the chair and match with napkins. Bonsai plants would make great centerpieces. Use white china and lay chopsticks across the plate and finish off with a fortune cookie
